Bio
Born
in Bari in 1974, started playing classical guitar at the age of
11, graduating cum laude in 1997 from the Conservatory of Bari
where he studied with the renowned guitar teacher Prof. Roberto
Lambo. Master-classes with world-class artists such as David Starobin
and Manuel Barrueco followed, in Italy and New York.
In 1995 he was 2nd prize-winner at the Ancona National Competition.
The following year he was 1st prize winner at the Barletta European
Competition, resulting finalist at the Viareggio International
Competition. In 1998 he was the only guitarist to reach the final
round at the “1997 Best Graduate of the Year Competition”
held in Castrocaro and is winner of the “4th National Guitar
Competition City of Castelfidardo”.
He has given acclaimed solo recitals for several concert associations
(“Camerata Musicale Barese”, Fondazione Concerti “Niccolò
Piccinni” of Bari, Auditorium Vallisa of Bari, Associazione
Cultura e Musica “G. Curci” di Barletta) and has also
appeared in ensemble with the “Accademia dei Cameristi”
of Bari and with the “New European Philharmonic Orchestra”
conducted by Prof. Bepi Speranza.
In 2000 he graduated cum laude in Foreign Languages and Literatures
from the University of Bari with the dissertation “Farewell
to Stromness”, on the music of Peter Maxwell Davies and
the 20th century British composers. He has achieved recognition
for his numerous charity musical initiatives.
Nato
a Bari nel 1974 intraprende lo studio della chitarra all’età
di 11 anni, diplomandosi col massimo dei voti e la lode nel 1997
presso il Conservatorio di Bari sotto la guida del M. tro Roberto
Lambo. Si è poi perfezionato in Masterclass con chitarristi
di fama mondiale come Manuel Barrueco e David Starobin in Italia
e a New York.
Nel 1995 riceve il 2° premio al Concorso Nazionale di Ancona.
L’anno successivo vince il 1° premio al Concorso Europeo
di Barletta ed è finalista al Concorso Internazionale di
Viareggio. Nel ’98 è l’unico chitarrista finalista
del Concorso “Migliori Diplomati dell’Anno ‘97”
di Castrocaro e vince il “4° Concorso Nazionale Città
di Castelfidardo”.
Ha tenuto diversi concerti per diverse Associazioni Musicali (Camerata
Musicale Barese, Fondazione Concerti “Niccolò Piccinni”,
Auditorium Vallisa, Associazione Musicale culturale “G.
Curci” di Barletta) da solista e in formazioni cameristiche
con “L’Accademia dei Cameristi” di Bari e con
la “Nuova Filarmonica Europea” condotta dal M. tro
Bepi Speranza.
Nel 2000 si laurea con lode in Lingue e Letterature Straniere
presso l’Università di Bari con una tesi di laurea
sui compositori inglesi del XX secolo. Ha avuto riconoscimenti
per le sue continue iniziative di beneficenza.
